WINSLOW HOMER - THE COTTON PICKERS (face marked)
This face is simply a record of an image Homer saw and painted. It appears to me that Homer frequently would just see a face and record it, without any apparent significance or meaning, other than merely embodying what he saw. He expressed himself. When Homer looked at Nature, he constantly saw these little miracles.


This face reminds me of the face looking out over
the barrel in Barnyard with Boy Feeding Chickens.
